Recall of Rell D Following Sudden Death
Police from the South Bend Police Department answered a ShotSpotter alert in the 700 block of North Brookfield Street early on Sunday, January 25, about 3:00 a.m. When officers arrived, they discovered Rell D, an adult guy who seemed to have a gunshot wound. Despite fast and aggressive lifesaving efforts, he was declared dead on the spot.
The Violent Crimes Unit of the South Bend Police Department continues investigating this murder. Rell D.'s name was hidden during the initial release while we waited for word of next of kin.
