Individual Accused of Homicide Following Fatal Highway 90 Road-Rage Shooting in Horry County

 A disastrous incident involving road rage on Highway 90 in Horry County has resulted in one fatality and one individual facing murder accusations, highlighting how swiftly typical traffic disagreements can escalate into fatal situations. According to investigators, 33-year-old Paul Jones Greenwood from Nichols exited his pickup and entered into a verbal dispute with the driver of the Honda Civic. The situation escalated quickly. A short while later, gunshots were fired. Footage captured by bystanders, which is now part of the investigation, documented the alarming sequence as several shots rang out during the clash. Greenwood was hit and subsequently succumbed to his injuries at the scene, as stated by Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard.

Elijaih Thurman Taylor, a 23-year-old from Nakina, North Carolina, has been charged with murder and illegal possession of a firearm during a violent incident. Investigators assert that Taylor, who was operating the Honda Civic with North Carolina plates, discharged the lethal rounds during the altercation. Witnesses, including Khadijah Hemingway and her mother Evettie, who were also involved in the crash, informed police that they observed Taylor nearby as he fired his weapon.

Taylor has been apprehended and is currently being held without bail at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center, as reported by Horry County authorities. The section of Highway 90 close to Star Bluff and Long Bay roads was closed for several hours while detectives gathered evidence, analyzed video recordings, and pieced together the events leading to the shooting.
